Simply stated, we want to help every winegrape grower to Be a Better Grape Grower by making expert grape growing advice and education accessible, affordable, and entertaining.
Our journey
Following 11 years spent in educational vineyard roles and after launching his highly successful Westover Vineyard Advising consulting service, Fritz realized two key things – that today’s growers needed a single, trusted, on-demand source for advice and questions and that no matter how much he worked and traveled he could not physically help every grower in their vineyard.
So, in 2018, he and his team launched the revolutionary Virtual Viticulture Academy bringing easy-to-understand, informative, and engaging vineyard advice and education to growers’ phones and laptops around the world.
Since its launch, Virtual Viticulture Academy has continually grown year-over-year with 100% of membership revenue to-date invested back into developing more content, courses, better usability and support, and so much more.
We continue to work every day to make expert, innovative winegrape growing education and advice attainable and fun for the modern grower.

Virtual Viticulture Academy doesn’t just provide advice, training, and resources, we also support a community of winegrape growers. No matter where their vineyards are, our growers never have to grow alone, and their shared experiences provide another level of grape-growing knowledge for our members.
We currently help growers across 35 states and 10 countries. Our members range from prospective vineyard owners to award-winning wineries providing a diverse community of shared grower insights and knowledge.
