Virtual Site Assessment – Site elevation, airflow, primary pests and diseases, and other risk factors affecting grape production.
Variety and Rootstock Selection – List of preferred varieties, clones, rootstocks to match soil and site characteristics, with input from grower preferences and what is successful in the region.
Analysis of Soil Maps and Soil Sampling Procedures – A report showing primary soil series, interpretation of soil drainage, and virtual soil assessment with grower input.
Custom Interpretation of Lab Results and Plan for Soil Amendments – Review of submitted soil tests and recommendations for pre-plant fertilizer amendments.
Block and Trellis Design – Map of vineyard block layout with approximate acres, row direction, row, and vine spacing, and diagrams of trellis for construction of end posts, line posts, vine stakes, wires, gear, and hardware.
Custom List of Equipment and Supplies – List of suggested products, approximate quantities, including trellis hardware, as well as all supplies needed to establish vines after planting.
Custom Timeline for Site Development – Soil preparation practices include cultivation, incorporation of soil amendments, trellis installation, and vine planting through young vine care and vineyard establishment. (Does not include irrigation design.)
Communication to Complete – Up to 4 hours of phone and email communication until all aspects of the package are received and understood. Future questions beyond the development of the vineyard site establishment plan may be answered during Live Vineyard Advising sessions through Virtual Viticulture Academy.
